The James Grigg Treatment Centre’s specialise in injury treatment,
sports massage and personal training. They are currently based in both
the New Forest (in Hale, near Downton and Fordingbridge) and Salisbury
(at the Ray McEnhill Stadium).
Personal training is about achieving results quickly and that is what we strive
to do. However, personal training needs to be enjoyed as well. This is why
our sessions are carefully planned to target our clients goals whilst keeping a
fun element as well.
Our most popular request with personal training is weight loss. Our weight loss
programme is extremely effective and utilises a recently new fitness tool known as

Personal training is not only about weight loss. Many of clients require certain
levels of fitness for their particular sport. In this case, our personal training
programmes will target the specific areas of fitness required and focus on
these elements.
Whatever your fitness goal

It does not matter whether you fitness goal is weight loss, muscle gain,

to achieve it as quickly as possible.

Train inside or outside? It’s your choice

Some people can’t stand the idea of going to a gym but love to train outdoors in the fresh air. Some people
however want to train in private away from everyone else.
Well at the James Grigg Centre you can do either.
Our New Forest location allows us to train clients in the natural beauty of the new forest and also in our private one-2-one brand new gym. So whatever your preference maybe, we can adapt to you.
Our New Forest location is just a short drive from Fordingbridge and Downton located in the village
of Hale.
Training outside can be so much more fun

More and more people are finding that personal training outside is more motivating and enjoyable than being indoors in a gym.
Studies also suggest that more calories can be burned when training is conducted in an outdoor environment. Although how true this actually is remains questionable!
Whether or not it’s true doesn’t change the fact that personal training outside is becoming more popular.
The location of our New Forest gym is right in the middle of the New Forest meaning that you can arrive, change, train and use the showers once you have finished.
The scenery is beautiful and on a nice day can we can definitely notice a marked improvement of our client’s motivation!

Bring your favourite motivational music on your iPod,
plug it into our surround sound, and together we will

Training sessions are usually an hour long and can

Kettlebell training

Kettlebells are fast becoming the fitness tool of choice for achieving all
aspects of health and fitness. Whether you want to tone muscle, build
muscle, lose weight, improve strength, train for a particular sport or just
simply transform your fitness levels, then kettlebells are the ideal tool to
achieve all of your goals.
Personal training is all about getting results quickly and this is why kettlebells
are becoming more and more popular.
Described as “the total gym in the palm of your hand” the kettlebell has
been around for years. Their success has been repeatedly proven yet it is
only recently that the general public has started to hear about them. The
endorsement by current celebrities for their love of kettlebells has been largely
responsible for the dramatic increase in awareness and use.
Kettlebells are so popular because they combine both cardiovascular
and resistance training in the same movement. So instead of doing a
20 minute run followed by a separate 20 minute weights session, a
kettlebell training session will combine the two elements together to
give a total workout in half the time.
A great way to help prevent low back pain

The use of kettlebell training is also largely used in the treatment of lower back pain.
By safely strengthening the lower back muscles they play a major role in stabilizing the spine. They are also a great core stability exercise as well as great for improving flexibility.

Scientists have recently stated that the amount of calories burned during a 50 minute run can be achieved in 15 minutes with a kettlebell session.
So, during a kettlebell training session, it is possible to burn the same amount of calories as a 50 minute run, tone almost every muscle in the body, improve core stability, reduce the likelihood of back pain, improve flexibility and have fun at the same time.
